RAINING IT WAS ......

i think it was one of those Saturdays when I thought I'll be partying out all night ... partying was something which was not on my menu for that day ...

its Saturday afternoon ... me and a couple of my friends, after a sweaty afternoon in Saddar, thought we'd sure like to fill our tummys with pizzas; ended up at Pizza Hut - MASociety. After an amazing meal (i'll call it a meal because 4 guys had approx. 4 large pizzas :P) when I just remembered taking out something from my car. Although the window on teh side had already suggested that it was raining ... bt i never knew it would be that bad ... after that moment ... below you'll see the next 3 hours of karachi ... through my eyes .....
The hoarding at the SMCHS Flyover ... next day ... it was a unipole standing in the middle while there were no boards around it !

This is the start of the main Korangi Road ...the road right beside Kala Pul. Some sheets of the billboard on the left (white one) fell on the main road.

These were two 90 x 30 billboards ... again near Kalapul ... total catastrophe ... apparently a couple of ladies were standing under it when these giant hoardings collapsed.

Going down the road ... on my right hand side was this site which was coming down in front of my eyes ... the steel sheets were flying in the gushing wind like a paper ... this was one scary sight !

Old Clifton Looking New :)

When i was young, we used to go to this place in Clifton where they had a certain monument and we never used to go near it majorly because of two reasons: one being the fact that there were too many kids sliding down the walls that we didn't really wanted to be a part of it :P and the other thing being we were too engrossed in the rides near the same place that we would rather spend all the time there. Woahh ... those were the good ol' days :P

Well, this is what and how it used to be :

and the picture below is not a very old one. This was the day after this park/monument was relaunched after renovations. Still brings some memories :) ...

and it rained …

Yesterday … I saw Karachi … as beautiful as it can present itself … oh yeahh … I was on the roads with beautiful rain pouring from the heavenly clouds … yeah it was BEAUTIFUL …

… until I took a right turn after Kh-e-Bahria and was faced with a rushing stream of BLACK water – and could see on that for approx. 3 kms ! For the first time I actually felt that despite of the fact that these areas are one of the most posh localities in Karachi – have the poorest infrastructure. As per the statement from the local Govt. that everything was normal (via the Mayor’s 8 hours long drive) and the whole team was summoned on Sunday to make sure that there were no major issues – I failed to understand what does “normal” mean to these people sitting on those “democratically-controlled” seats … I know its not a small job to take care of a metropolis like Karachi … but then again … nobody said “life’s gonna be easy”. The only thing I could think of at that time was would I be able to reach me home with my car – YES I DID ! (Thanks to the manufacturers of SUZUKI)

Well … coming back to the beautiful part – yes it was scintillating! The tress were washed as if the clouds wanted them to look beautiful … the few greener patches looked as immaculate as a snow-covered mountain … the street-lights complimented the elegance of the rain drops falling from up above … a sight for sore eyes for sure !

While searching … found a small poem on rain … here it is as an end to de blog (:

Beautiful river, down from the sky
Beauty, as the clouds do cry
The sacred bringer of all life
Water does calm all strife
Rain, quencher of the flame
Rain, Rain, I shout thy name.
Rain Rain, Beautiful rain.

Finally ...

FINAALYYYY ... I HAVE MY OWN BLOG !
Yeah sounds funny to me too ... really wanted to start it since ages back but somehow or the other someting kept me away from it. And thus the picture on the left ... with moi lazing off trying to tell the world that I had all the time in the world to pose for the pic but not for creating a blog :P LOL ... Self-Criticism is what drives me ahead i guess (:

Well, to start with I HAVE TO give the credit for myself to be a part of the blogging community to SARAH SIKANDER ... Budz ... HERE I AM WITH MY BLOG !

Well, this would just be an introductory blog. The reason I have chosen this title is the mere fact that I have tried to take photography as a hobby and would be trying my level best to shoot whatever I can and then let people see the world through my eyez ... not indicating that they can't do it themselves but then again ... it would definitely have an insight with it ... which would YES be the difference .

Well, till the nxt BLOG a' la WTMEYEz ... Take care of yaself & keep smilin'
